Friday’s awards assembly included grabbing a fist full of quarters, prizes, gift cards, and jumping over a row of dollar bills to win that amount. As the 300 students chanted “Kiss the pig!” a large and domesticated potbellied pig ambled out to the center of the gym floor. Mr. Netz, school principal, had previously promised to pucker up to the porcine if the amount of $10,000 was reached. Well, the goal was reached and the promised was kept.

The real goal was raising funds to help GCCS add more laptops to its collection. We are thankful to every student who participated and everyone who contributed.
