Janet Iles, High School Faculty ~ Janet Iles is a member of the Fine Arts Department at GCCS, specializing in Speech and Public Speaking. Janet teaches Public Speaking to our junior students and is also the High School Play Director and Coach for many speech categories for the Senior High Fine Arts Competition. Janet has been in education for 38 years and has been a part of the faculty of GCCS for almost 20 years. Besides the courses she has taught at GCCS, Janet has taught High School English and Public Speaking at Calvary Baptist School; College Writing at Camden County College; and Improving College Reading, Literacy Pedagogy, Critical Thinking and Reading of Academic Texts, and School Reading Problems at Rowan University where she is a well-respected member of the College of Education. Janet earned both a B.S. in Speech Education and M.A. in Speech Interpretation from Bob Jones University, as well as a M.Ed. as a Reading Specialist from Bloomsburg University. She currently holds certifications in Speech and Theatre Arts, as a Teacher of Reading, and as a Reading Specialist. She and her husband Steve are both active members of their church, where Janet teaches in the Nursery and Junior Church ministries, and their children Ben, Jill, and Aaron are all alumni of GCCS. Outside of education Janet enjoys running and spending time with her grandchildren.
