With apologies to the British composer, Frederic Austin, here are a few things we would like here at Gloucester around Christmas time. An obvious reference to the Christmas song “The Twelve Days of Christmas.” The ever reliable Wikipedia lists fifteen variations to the lyrics. One more variation won’t hurt.

On the First day of Christmas my teachers gave to me a classroom full of nice kids.

On the Second day of Christmas my teachers gave to me two sets of keys.

On the Third day of Christmas my teachers gave to me three Bic pens.

On the Fourth day of Christmas my teachers gave to me four Seniors leading.

On the Fifth day of Christmas my teachers gave to me five fire drills.

On the Sixth day of Christmas my teachers gave to me six snack bar workers.

On the Seventh day of Christmas my teachers gave to me seven Soph’mores growing.

On the Eighth day of Christmas my teachers gave to me eight Aides a grading.

On the Ninth day of Christmas my teachers gave to me nine Freshmen learning.

On the Tenth day of Christmas my teachers gave to me ten Juniors giving.

On the Eleventh day of Christmas my teachers gave to me eleven happy teachers.

On the Twelfth day of Christmas my teachers gave to me twelve laptops humming.

We here at Gloucester County Christian School are thankful for great students, supportive families, wonderful host church, tireless school board, dedicated staff, and most of all, that Jesus Christ came into the world to be our Savior.  “And the angel said unto them, ‘Fear not: for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.’ ” Luke 2: 10, 11
